Quote of the Week

"Save the lectures for your kids. Whatever the subject of your discussion, let it be a discussion, not a lecture, and try to leave right and wrong out of it. Justified or not, the U.S. is seen as imposing its will on the world. Try to show a willingness to understand other viewpoints."

SLCC Offers ‘Executive Certificate of Global Business Management’

The Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) Miller Global Business Center is once again offering its Executive Certificate of Global Business Management course to business executives, professionals, working staff, entrepreneurs and qualified students who wish to increase their knowledge and improve their strategies in global business practices.

Stan Rees, [title], says the course is suitable for individuals new to international trade and assumes no prior international experience, but is also valuable to business managers already involved in international trade who would benefit from an added in-depth exposure to international marketing, trade finance, international transportation and trade management.

“Professionals from service industries such as banking, transportation and consultants will also find the courses useful for their own professional development and to better understand the needs of their international clients,” Rees adds.

The certificate consists of five sections and 30 hours of class instruction. It includes a professional working text and supplements designed to help guide a business into the global marketplace. The courses are taught by experts and leading professional practitioners and will involve developing an international business plan, lectures, case studies, computerized international market research and hands-on practical experience.

Classes start October 2 and end December 11. A total of 10 classes will be held on Thursday evenings with each class lasting 3 hours (6 – 9 p.m.). (No class will be held during the Thanksgiving week.) Classes will be held at the Miller Business Innovation Center, 9690 S. 300 West, Suite 333, Sandy.

To pre-register and for additional information on this excellent professional development opportunity, contact Stan Rees at 801-957-5556 or stan.rees@slcc.edu. Class size is limited so please register as soon as possible to reserve your place. {Flyer}
