Chaffetz receives frightening voicemail: ‘Prepare for the battle, motherf***er!’

Rep. Jason Chaffetz released a very disturbing voicemail left at his office from a man who threatened to kill him.

Fox and Friends played the voicemail on their Thursday show. The man screamed at Chaffetz during the recording:

“Hey, Jason Chaffetz…I suggest you prepare for the battle mother****** and the apocalypse because we’re going t hunt your a** down, wrap a rope around your neck and hang you from a lamppost!”

 

Chaffetz says he received the voicemail in March, but it’s terrifying given the attack on a Republican baseball practice last week.

Chaffetz explained that these kinds of messages rarely get prosecuted, even as he described a separate message where someone said they were “going to come and slit [his] throat.”

 

“I have stacks, mounds of written threats that people put their names to, send us emails. But, again, they don’t get prosecuted,” Chaffetz said. “There has got to be better ways to protect members of Congress.”
