To be sure, Mr. Obama did not create the Great Recession. But in 2009 this country needed our new president to focus all his attention and the power of the government on our wounded economy. We needed a turnaround. Instead we got trillions in more debt, and yearly deficits of over $1 trillion for the foreseeable future. Our national debt will, by the administration’s own numbers, exceed $20 Trillion at the end of a second Obama term. We got new regulations that have strangled our energy exploration and production. We have subsidized experimental and novelty technologies.
Instead of fixing the economy, Mr. Obama turned to health care reform, which certainly was a problem. But will the PPACA really help? Health insurance premiums are estimated to increase by a minimum of forty percent as insurance companies now deal with mandated coverage and guaranteed insurance without consideration of pre-existing conditions. The new taxes in Obamacare will seriously burden our fragile economy. Although healthcare is a serious issue in America, it is secondary to the overall health of our economy.
After four years of dabbling on the economic margins and using only big government solutions of stimulus and takeovers, our economy has hardly recovered. This administration has not earned our vote for another term.
Fortunately, help is at hand, America! Mitt Romney understands as well as any person in the world how to make dysfunctional enterprises work again, how to rally the troops, raise sunken morale, and restore confidence. At great personal cost, Governor Romney stood forth to help his country. We can hire him to do a job he is perfectly fitted to do. One commentator said it so well,
“Romney is a genius, and intends to find the waste and inefficiency in the executive branch ... If you had to pick a skill set for someone who might have the tools to reform a sprawling, out-of-control-federal bureaucracy, you couldn’t do better than a private equity turnaround artist. The same eye that can absorb budgets, spreadsheets, market opportunities, and operations reports can focus sharp scrutiny on federal offices and expenditures ... The existential threats we face are insolvency, bureaucratic and leadership incompetence, and political priorities that ignore practical needs. Consider Romney’s experience, skills, and achievements of record in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. There may never have been a candidate in history better positioned to do to what the nation desperately needs now."(10/31/12)
I concur and this is why Mitt has my vote.
