We saw that social media engagement was a fairly accurate predictor of how the Salt Lake County Mayoral race played out. What does that metric tell us about the race for U.S. Senate?

According to PoliticIt
, Orrin Hatch is doing quite well. He has four-times the number of Facebook followers than his closest rival, Dan Liljenquist. He has nearly 15 times the number of Twitter followers.

On the Democratic side, Pete Ashdown and Scott Howell have nearly the same number of Facebook followers, but Ashdown's 878 Twitter followers is far beyond the 27 of Howell.

The last metric, the "It Score" measures digital influence on a scale of 1-100. Hatch has a relatively low 15, while Liljenquist is at 14.

Here are the numbers.
