Making Prescription Drugs Affordable for Those Most in Need
Did you know that more than 161,000 people in United Way of Salt Lake’s service area, which includes Davis, Salt Lake, Summit, and Tooele counties, are unable to access the medications they need and 42 percent of low-income individuals do not fill a prescription given to them due to financial reasons? UWSL Joins FamilyWize Partnership Program to Make Prescription Discount Cards Available

To make prescription drugs affordable for individuals and families, United Way of Salt Lake has joined the FamilyWize Partnership Program, which is committed to reducing the cost of medicine for children, families and individuals with no prescription drug coverage by $100 million in five years. The FamilyWize Partnership has donated over 1.2 million FamilyWize prescription discount cards to United Ways throughout the country to distribute within their communities.

Most pharmacies in the United States accept these prescription drug discount cards. They have no usage limits, age requirements or registration forms. By using the discount cards at participating pharmacies, eligible recipients will receive discounted prescription prices that would otherwise not be available to them. (Read the full article)
