IMPACT MATTERS

Calling for Grant Applications: Deadline Jan. 11, 2008

Over the years, UWSL has been fortunate to partner with many outstanding organizations throughout our service area of Salt Lake, Davis, Tooele, and Summit Counties. It is through the grassroots services of these partners that we are able to extend our reach and achieve the greatest good from the funds we have available.

Each United Way of Salt Lake Community Partner undergoes a significant review to determine its effectiveness and adherence to United Way's Pathways to Prosperity. Partners receive funding from United Way based on the evaluations from that review. Partners will need to demonstrate that they are actively collaborating with agencies/partners in the community as a way to ensure efficiency and non-duplicative services. Each partner must have accountability measures in place to track results from their agency. The four elements of the Pathways to Prosperity are:

1. Improving financial stability
2. Opening doors to educational achievement
3. Strengthening children and families
4. Protecting and meeting basic needs

To apply for a grant, applicant organizations must complete five documents:

•  Agency profile
•  Eligibility requirements
•  Program funding application
•  Target population
•  Budget

Furthermore, our community partners must demonstrate that they are actively collaborating with agencies/partners in the community as a way to ensure efficiency and non-duplication of services. Each partner must have accountability measures in place to track results of the services they render.

The application process is a significant effort; however, UWSL is ready and willing to assist with questions regarding the grant application and eligibility requirements. If you have questions, please contact Karen Wright, Grant Reporting Specialist, at 736.7753 or email.

The online application is available now through January 11, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. We encourage all non-profit organizations and established public entities to apply.
