2009 Utah Health Forum: Reforming Our Health System

Register here: http://www.saltlakechamber.org/calendar/events/detail/?EventID=2799

The health system in Utah — and in the nation at large — requires urgent change. Misaligned incentives, nonexistent competition and a lack of accountability have created a broken system. Utah’s health care system excels relative to other states in the U.S., but rising costs make our system unsustainable for families, businesses and our system as a whole. Befitting Utah’s status as a recognized leader in state-led reform efforts, the inaugural Utah Health Forum will elevate awareness of Utah’s reform efforts and create a platform for the next big steps in reform.

The Utah Health Forum will provide a framework for major policy statements by government, business leaders and the public. Major issues and topics of concern will be discussed, including the high-and-rising costs of the health care system; impact on businesses when they can least afford it; renewed focus on prevention; creating a simple and efficient system; and many other topics.

The goal of the Utah Health Forum is to continue building momentum for health system reform and elevating the dialogue across government, business and the public. Together we will create a conference where the health system can be restructured as a fair and open system that focuses individual responsibility and provides strong evidence for support.

Join us at this important event as we set the foundation for health system reform.
