Sen. Orrin Hatch praises a U.S. District Judge's decision to allow a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the new health law to proceed. Utah and 19 other states are plaintiffs in the lawsuit, which challenges the individual insurance mandate and other mandates on states and businesses. Says Hatch in a press release issued Thursday:
“This decision is a recognition that Congress has never gone this far and that the constitutional arguments have real merit. This $2.6 trillion disaster is the greatest expansion of federal power in history. If the federal government can tell Americans what goods or services they must buy with their own money, the federal government has no limits anymore and our liberty is in jeopardy.”
