The Oregonian looks at the controversy surrounding the Summer Outdoor Retailer trade convention, which is threatening to relocate unless Gov. Herbert changes his public lands policies.

Denver, Las Vegas, Anaheim and Orlando have led surveys of association members asked about potential future homes for the summer show. (The association also holds a winter equipment show in January in Salt Lake City. It's possible that could move, too.)

Moving wouldn't be such a bad thing, said Andrea Mrotek, trade show manager for Tigard-based Gerber Legendary Blades.

"It seems like (the city is) always under construction right around the convention center," Mrotek said, putting some finishing touches on a display of Gerber knives. She's also not a fan of state laws that limit some establishments from selling beer that has alcohol content higher than 3.2 percent.
