Not content with just using a recorded robo-call from Mitt Romney in her ads, Mia Love now has a straight to camera endorsement from the Republican nominee.

The new ad has Romney talking directly to camera urging Utahns to vote for Love.

"There's much at state for Utah in this election, that's why we need Mia Love in Congress. I've watched Mia successfully lead her city. I know she's committed to cutting taxes. I trust Mia to protect seniors and ensure every child has the chance to fulfill the American dream.

"Mia is ready to lead. Our country needs her voice. Utah needs her in Congress. Join me in supporting Mia Love for Congress."

It seems Romney's picture and voice actually had a negative effect on the Love's campaign. If he was really endorsing Love, why hadn't he done an on-camera TV ad for her as he had for others including Orrin Hatch? Apparently enough pressure was brought to bear by Utah GOP leaders to get Romney to do the ad since the race with Matheson was tight. Perhaps the real reason for the Romney delay was that he was hedging his bet that if Matheson did indeed win, he would have Matheson to help him with bipartisan support in the GOP house. Otherwise, the on-camera ad would have been done months earlier helping Love, avoiding the embarassing voice only ad.
