Derek B. Miller, president and CEO of the Salt Lake Chamber and Downtown Alliance, issued the following statement on Utah’s Inland Port Authority and Governor Herbert’s call for a special session this Wednesday:
“We thank Governor Gary Herbert, Speaker Greg Hughes, President Wayne Niederhauser, Council Chair Erin Mendenhall and the entire Salt Lake City Council for their collaborative leadership in reaching consensus on important changes to the Inland Port Authority in an upcoming special session. Ultimately, this agreement will allow us to go beyond the politics and focus on what really matters, our state’s long-term prosperity. As an economic driver and job creator, the Utah inland port is a once-in-a-generation project that with a century long impact.”
